Super Bowl Sunday, February 5th
Does your chili have what it takes to win the Big Game? Is it MVP material?
Deadline to register is Saturday, February 4th. Contestants judged by “slightly expert” panel on 5 categories: taste, spice, texture/consistency, aroma and overall look/appeal, and separate award for People’s Choice.
Prizes awarded, trophy’s to be hoisted! …and it’s FREE to enter!! Must make at least a gallon to share and to be judged, you do not need to enter contest to bring chili!

SUPERBOWL OF CHILI
RULES/RECOMMENDATIONS/DETAILS:
- FREE to join, limit 30 entrants, first sign-up/first serve.
- You do not have to enter contest to bring chili, but either way a gallon of chili (minimum) is highly recommended to serve the Super Bowl party.
- Judges will sample from a single 16 oz. cup of each chili discreetly marked for identification (judges will not know who’s chili is which, obviously). Each judge will have a maximum of 2 tablespoons of each chili to taste.
- There are not separate categories for “non-traditional” chili (turkey, chicken, white chili, green chili, etc.). All chili will be judged equally, based on 4 categories below.
- Chili will be served to judges with NO: sour cream, cheese, onion, chips, etc, as a topping or side. Just a spoon!
- Judging Categories: Taste (Delicious, Very Good, Not Bad, or NEXT!) Texture/Consistency (is meat tender, but not mushy? are beans or veggies cooked well? is sauce saucy, watery, or too thick? Aroma (how does the smell draw in the rest of the face for a taste?) Spice (Just right, too much, too little or bland?) Look/Appeal(is it mixed well? Does it entice you to take a bite, or give you pause?)
- Scores will be tallied and winners announced A.S.A.P. during Super Bowl.
